Theme Youth Group 2007-2008: ""Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7: 7-8
Mission Statement: "The mission of the St. Timothy's youth group is to build relationships with teens, to help them develop a personal relationship with Jesus, to promote the Catholic faith, to discover where we are needed most and to glorify God in all that we do!"
The goal of the youth group at St. Timothy parish is to cultivate in youth and the whole community a love for Jesus Christ, fidelity to His Church, and a commitment to the dignity of the human person. The youth group program is dedicated to fostering intellectual, spiritual, and social service opportunities for the youth to gain the tools for their lives and the future. Throughout the year the youth will have many events, retreats, and social gatherings to explore their faith, evangelize, and study.
Thank you to all parents and parishioners who help youth group through their generous donations in prayer, driving youth to events, giving testimonies and teachings of the faith, providing food and drinks, various supplies, and miscellaneous items.
Quotes:
"My dear young people, do not yield to false illusions and passing fads which so frequently leave behind a tragic spiritual vacuum! Reject the seduction of wealth, consumerism and the subtle violence sometimes used by the mass media…"
Pope Benedict XVI, 20th World Youth Day, Cologne, August 2005
"Worship Christ: He is the Rock on which to build your future and a world of greater justice and solidarity. The Church needs genuine witnesses for the new evangelization: men and women whose lives have been transformed by meeting with Jesus, men and women who are capable of communicating this experience to others. The Church needs saints." Pope Benedict XVI, 20th World Youth Day, Cologne, August 2005
